His journey began at Westbury High School in Houston, followed by a stint at New Mexico Highlands University, where he initially played American football as a wide receiver until 2012. Williams' transition to rugby in 2013 marked the beginning of a remarkable career trajectory.

His skills in college rugby earned him the prestigious 2014 College Sevens Player of the Year award from Rugby Today magazine, largely due to his outstanding performance at the 2014 NSCRO national championship. Williams' college success continued as he played a pivotal role in New Mexico's consecutive NSCRO 7s title victories in 2015 and 2016, setting the stage for his international debut.

Kevon William’s Career in Rugby

Kevon Williams debuted on the international stage at the 2016 Dubai Sevens, stepping in to replace the injured Carlin Isles. This opportunity marked the beginning of his journey with the USA Men's Sevens team.

During the 2017-18 season, Williams saw increased playing time, often filling in for the injured Madison Hughes. He appeared in 47 matches and scored 14 tries. The following season, 2018-19, saw Williams further strengthen his position in the team, playing 52 matches and scoring 18 tries.

Williams' rugby career reached new heights when he was selected for the USA team at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco.

In 2021, Williams achieved a significant milestone in his career by being named to the USA Men's Sevens squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (held in 2021 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic). The team finished sixth in the tournament.

Since 2021, Williams has taken on the role of Captain for the USA Men's Sevens team. He is set to lead the team into the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, his second Olympic appearance.
