Georgia Amoore is an Australian point guard for the Washington Mystics. She was picked as the sixth overall pick in the first round of the 2025 WNBA Draft. Amoore played college basketball for the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Kentucky Wildcats. She also attended Loreto College in Australia and played for Victoria Country.

Amoore began her college basketball journey in 2020 with the Hokies and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. In four seasons with Virginia Tech, Amoore accumulated 1,853 points with 330 rebounds and 656 assists (via Sports Reference). She moved to Kentucky for her final collegiate season in 2024 and averaged a career-high 19.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 31 games. Amoore earned recognition in the WBCA Coaches' All-American team.

Her basketball skills made her a natural selection for the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2021. During her sophomore 2021/22 season, Amoore was honorably mentioned as an All-ACC player in 2022, according to the Hokies website.

Georgia Amoore’s junior 2022/23 season was when she gained the most recognition and appreciation for her skills on the court. She is notable for recording her first triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in a victory against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on December 1, 2022. Consequently, she became the first player from the Virginia Tech Hokies to achieve a triple-double in the team’s history. Furthermore, she also helped her team reach the Elite Eight in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. She also led her team to the Final Four.

In the 2023/24 season, she witnessed her best year as a Hokie while averaging 18.8 points per game and 6.8 assists per game as a senior. However, after four seasons with the program, Amoore decided to transfer to the University of Kentucky for her final year of eligibility.
