Hiedeman attended Marquette University for four years, from 2015 to 2019 and played for the Marquette Golden Eagles women's basketball team. She was the Big East Player of the Year in 2019 and was honored with the First-team All-Big East recognition in 2019 and a spot on the Big East All-Freshman Team in 2016. She became a WNBA Commissioner's Cup Champion in 2024 with the Lynx.
