Zia Cooke is a backup point guard for the Los Angeles Sparks and she was picked by Sparks as 10th overall in the first round of the 2023 WNBA Draft. As a school player, she won back-to-back Division II state titles in the years 2016 and 2017 for the Robert S. Rogers High School team in Ohio, U.S. For this remarkable achievement, she was awarded The Blade Player of the Year for two consecutive years. In her rookie season at WNBA, She got very few chances to play for Sparks but In the 2023-24 season, Cooke averaged 3.4 points, 0.7 assists and 0.8 rebounds per match.

After joining Robert S. Rogers High School, Zia Cooke was a very well-known star in her freshman year she averaged 21.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.1 steals per game and led her team to the Division II state title in Ohio, U.S. For her extraordinary performance, she was also awarded The Blade Player of the Year in that year.

In her senior year, Cooke averaged 21.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game and won the state title 2nd time back to back. Again she was awarded The Blade Player of the Year for 2nd consecutive year. For school success, she got the chance to play for the McDonald's All-American Game in the year 2018.

After graduating from school Cooke joined the best college basketball team which was The South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team representing the University of South Carolina. In her freshman season, she became first-choice point guard for the team and she averaged 12.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. As a leader of the team, she put her team first and as a result, her team became number one in the country as recorded the highest win record of 32 games and only one loss in the full season. For this remarkable achievement, She was also selected for the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team.

In her sophomore season, Cooke averaged 15.9 points, three rebounds and two assists per game, and got selected as first-team ALL-Sophomore team. In the season 2020 as a senior, She won the prestigious tournament title which is the biggest in the country named The NCAA Division I women's basketball title.
