Carmella is an American professional wrestler, model, and dancer. Her real name is Leah Van Dale and she was born on October 23, 1987, in Spencer, Massachusetts. She is most prominently known for her work in WWE where she won the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, Women’s Tag Team Championship, WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal, WWE 24/7 Championship, and was the first-ever Ms. Money in the Bank.

She began her career as a cheerleader and dancer, even performing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and transitioned into professional wrestling in 2016. In April 2022, Leah Van Dale married longtime boyfriend Corey Graves, a commentator for WWE. The couple had been dating publicly since 2019 and their relationship was often acknowledged on-screen as part of Carmella's character.

In May 2023, Carmella and Corey Graves announced that they were expecting their first child. In November 2023 they welcomed a son named Dimitri Paul Polinsky. The birth was announced on their social media platforms, with Carmella sharing a heartfelt message about the experience, including the challenges of a 60-hour labor. This marked a significant shift in Carmella's life, taking a temporary leave from wrestling to focus on motherhood. Before Dimitri, the two had been expecting a kid in 2022. On October 31, 2022, Carmella took to social media to share the unfortunate news that she had a miscarriage during an ectopic pregnancy.

Carmella is also a stepmother to Corey Graves' three children from his previous marriage to Amy (Schneider) Polinsky.
