Alvin Kamara is an American football running back for the New Orleans Saints in the 2024 NFL season. The Saints selected Kamara as the 67th overall pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, Kamara had 180 yards, with 115 rushing yards, three touchdowns, and 65 receiving yards, in a 44–19 win over the Cowboys. He was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week. As of Week 13, 2024, Kamara has 6,723 rushing yards, and scored 60 rushing touchdowns. He also has 564 receptions for 4,669 yards and 24 receiving touchdowns. He has also received Second-team All-Pro honors twice in 2017 and 2020 respectively.
Growing up in Georgia, Kamara attended Norcross High School, where he played football under coach Keith Maloof. After graduating, he committed to play collegiate football at the University of Alabama in 2013. In 2014, he transferred to Hutchinson Community College and finished his collegiate career after playing two seasons at the University of Tennessee in 2016. After the 2016 season at Tennessee, Kamara decided to skip his senior year and enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
