D'Ernest Johnson Jr. is an American football running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2024 NFL season. He went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft and was later invited to the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp. In the 2019 season, he finally got signed by the Alliance of American Football's Orlando Apollos. However, in April, AAF ceased operations, and he signed with the Cleveland Browns in May 2019. In his five seasons with the NFL, he has played in 81 games, starting two, recording 182 attempts for 846 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Furthermore, he also recorded 41 receptions for 369 receiving yards and two fumbles, as of December 2024.

Johnson went to Immokalee High School and assisted in leading the team to the regional semifinals of Class 5A, when they were defeated by Plantation-American Heritage 49-34. After graduating in 2014, he enrolled at the University of South Florida, where he ran 421 times for 16 touchdowns and 1,796 yards. At the end of his career, he led USF in all-purpose yards (4,186), running back receptions (73), and receiving yards (909). In 2018, he rushed for a career-high 796 yards and contributed nine offensive touchdowns, reducing his return duties and playing a larger part in the Bulls' run-oriented system.
