Alexandra Cadanțu

Alexandra Cadanțu is a professional Romanian tennis player playing in the ITF Women\'s Circuit. She started playing tennis at the age of 3 and she is coached by Bogdan Popovici. On April 30, 2012, she reached her highest WTA singles ranking of 74. Her highest doubles ranking was No. 188 as recorded on December 5, 2011. At the 2012 French Open, Cadantu suffered a 6–0, 6–0 first round defeat at the hands of Maria Sharapova, who then went on to win the tournament. She was the singles finalist in four tournaments in 2012- Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open and doubles finalists in three- French Open, Wimbledon and US Open. She partnered with Irina-Camelia Begu to become the runner up of the tournament held in Fes, Morocco.
