Alex Nedeljkovic is an American goaltender playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL. Born on January 7, 1996, in Cleveland, Ohio, Nedeljkovic was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft (37th overall). His journey to professional hockey began in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he earned the F.W. "Dinty" Moore Trophy in his rookie season for posting a remarkable goals-against average of 2.28. Nedeljkovic's exceptional performance continued with selections to the 2014 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game.

Growing up in Parma, a city about 30 minutes from Cleveland, Nedeljkovic first played for the Cleveland Barons, a local youth hockey team, between 2009 and 2011. However, as Nedeljkovic's skills began to outgrow the local scene, his parents were determined to help him pursue better opportunities.

"My parents got me into hockey from a young age and allowed me to travel to more hotbed areas for hockey development," he shared with the Athletics.
