Carey Price is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender currently under contract with the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL). He is considered one of the top goaltenders in the world for his exceptional achievements. Price is the winningest goaltender in Canadiens history with 361 victories as of the 2022-23 season. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens as the fifth overall pick of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Before the NHL, he spent time with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League (AHL) and played a significant role there.

He contributed to Bulldog's Calder Cup championship, securing the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the most valuable player of the tournament. Price made his NHL debut during the 2007-08 season in the Canadiens roster as a backup goaltender on October 10, 2007. He quickly established himself as a strong goaltender in the league, earning the Molson Cup in his rookie season. He helped Montreal to a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference. In 2014-2015, Price claimed multiple awards due to his outstanding performance, this included the Ted Lindsay Award, William M. Jennings Trophy, Vezina Trophy, and the Hart Trophy. In the process, he became the first goaltender to win all four awards in the same season.

Price grew up practising on a frozen creek under the guidance of his father.

Price started his professional hockey career in the Western Hockey League with the Tri-City Americans in 2002 at the age of 15. Later on, he showcased stellar performance in the WHL with the Tri-City Americans at the age of 17, winning the Del Wilson Trophy as the top goaltender of the WHL and was recognized as the CHL Goaltender of the Year in his final year 2007 at the age of 19. He made his NHL debut in 2007 and quickly became one of the top goaltenders in the NHL.
