Sykes was selected by the Atlanta Dream as the 7th overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft. In 2020, she signed with the Los Angeles Sparks and played three seasons for them before moving to the Washington Mystics. As of January 2025, Sykes has played 240 games in her WNBA career, recording 2,875 points, 982 rebounds, and 659 assists. In addition to her WNBA career, Sykes played in the Israeli Female Basketball Premier League for Petah Tikva in 2018.
