With a height of 6 feet 4 inches, Rayah Marshall is a professional basketball player who plays for the two-time National Champions in Women's Basketball, the USC Trojans. Born on 15 November 2003, Marshall's basketball journey as a player began in her high school days at Lynwood High School in Los Angeles. In her sophomore year in school, the L.A.-born center, Marshall, scored a 50-point game against Bishop Montgomery, as per her college roster. During her junior year, Marshall averaged 18.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 2.4 steals per game. Marshall was named to the Watchlist for the 2021 Jersey Mike's Naismith Award Trophy for High School Girls Player of the Year. She also won the accolade of two-time Press Telegram player of the year selection and was also a four consecutive time LA Times First Team honoree. In 2021, she was also selected for the 2021 McDonald's All-American and also in the Jordan Brand Classic Team selection, as per her college roster.

After finishing her high school career, Marshall attended the University of Southern California ( USC) and played for their women's basketball team, i.e. USC Trojans. In her freshman year in 2021-22, Marshall averaged 2.54 blocks a game and also earned Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention that year, as per her college roster. She was the third leading scorer for the Trojans as she averaged 11.2 points per game and was the best rebounder with 7.7 boards per game. In her sophomore year, Marshall bettered her game even further as she averaged 12.7 points to go along with 11.5 rebounds per game, as she achieved the historic feat of becoming the first Trojan to average a double-double for the season since Tina Thompson in 1996-97. Thus, in her sophomore year, she was also nominated for the All-Pac-12 Team and was also a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year.
