Opals legend Sandy Brondello currently serves as the head coach of the New York Liberty in the WNBA. Brondello’s basketball life began in her homeland Australia, where she played in the Women's National Basketball League. In 1992, she was celebrated as the Australian Basketball Player of the Year because of her performance in WNBL. Over her time with the Brisbane Blazers in the WNBL, Brondello reached the playoffs three times and was awarded the Most Valuable Player in 1995.
