Even competed his first USA Powerlifting competition in 2010 and became the top powerlifter by breaking all the four Florida state powerlifting records in the 275 pound class. He also won the 2011 USAPL Raw Nationals in Scranton, Pennsylvania competing in the Heavyweight division and broke the Raw and National records in the deadlift by lifting 799 pounds. However, his national and American records were broken later.

After multiple injuries, his dream of becoming a professional footballer came to an end. Based on the advice of Jim Ross, Big E gave a tryout at the WWE's developmental brand, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). Big E got convinced with the decision and signed a developmental contract in 2009 under the ring name Big E Langston. Big E won the first championship in wrestling there, by winning the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship with Calvin Raines. WWE then changed the brand name from FCW to NXT. Big E made his debut in August 2012 and started a winning streak, where he delivered his finisher to the opponents and demanded the referee to count 5 instead of the traditional 3 count for the pinfall. Big E feuded with The Shield on NXT and defeated Seth Rollins to capture the NXT Championship. After successful defenses, he lost the title to Bo Dallas.

Big E Langston made his WWE main roster debut during his NXT reign and was simultaneously seen on Raw and NXT episodes. Big E appeared on Raw as a heel by attacking John Cena, and aligned himself with AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler. He acted as an enforcer for Dolph Ziggler. As soon as AJ and Ziggler got split, Langston attacked Ziggler the same night. Langston then aided Punk as Paul Heyman downplays Punk's victory over him. He then teamed with Punk for a tag team match against Ryback and Curtis Axel and secured a victory by pinning Curtis Axel. He then got a postponed title shot against Axel and won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time and then shrinked his name to Big E. He held the title for 167 days and lost the Intercontinental Championship to Bad News Barrett.

In 2014, Big E was put in a team with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods as a manager. The stable was then billed as The New Day and made their in-ring debut on SmackDown against Curtis Axel, Heath Slater and Titus O' Neil and won the match. The Trio has then become one of the most successful teams in WWE history. The trio has achieved great heights, and Big E as a part won the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship for 6 times and WWE Raw Tag Team Championship 2 times. The trio also won the Men's Tag Team of the year award for the year 2019 in the WWE year end award, Best Gimmick for The New Day in 2015 by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tag Team of the Year for the year 2015 and 2016 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

In 2020, New Day got split as a part of 2020 Draft, where Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston were drafted to Raw and Big E was drafted to SmackDown. This made him return back to the singles competition again after 6 years. Big E soon got an opportunity to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn in a lumberjack match. He won the match and became the Intercontinental Champion for the second time. Big E started a long time feud with Apollo Crews and lost the Championship at WrestleMania 37 in a Nigerian Drum Fight.

Big E then won the Money in the Bank briefcase the same year and successfully cashed it on Bobby Lashley to become the WWE Champion for the first time in his career. Big E then lost the title after 110 days against Brock Lesnar in a fatal five way match, at Day 1 PPV. Big E then was back on SmackDown with their New Day members to start a feud against The Brawling Brutes but was seriously injured during a match and was away from action till date.
