Rajasthan Royals (RR) are one of the teams playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2008. They were the first team to lift the IPL trophy in 2008 and have played in one IPL final in 2022 since then, as of May 2025. They finished third in the IPL 2024 table with eight wins in 14 matches. But, they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Qualifier 2 after defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator.
The 2008 IPL champions retained skipper Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Sandeep Sharma, and Dhruv Jurel ahead of the 2025 IPL mega auction. In the IPL 2025 auction, RR acquired the services of players such as Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Wanindu Hasaranga, Nitish Rana, and Fazalhaq Farooqi, among others. They only managed to win three out of their 12 games before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the IPL 2025 owing to India and Pakistan's political turmoil. RR are already eliminated from the IPL 2025 playoffs race.

RR lost their first IPL 2025 game against SRH at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad by 44 runs on March 23. They played their last match on May 4 in the IPL 2025 before the tournament was suspended. As per the revised schedule, RR will play their final two matches against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Jaipur and Delhi on May 18 and 20 respectively.

Rajasthan Royals IPL 2025 Away Schedule Details
RR opened their IPL 2025 campaign with an away fixture as the Sanju Samson-led team lost by 44 runs against SRH in Hyderabad on March 23. After a couple of home matches at their second home, RR hit the road again and faced PBKS on April 5 before taking on Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 9. As per the revised schedule, RR will play their last away game against CSK in Delhi on May 20.
