2019 Japan Open Tennis Championships
The Japan Open is a professional men’s tennis tournament held annually on hard outdoor courts of Tokyo. The competition is being conducted since the year 1972 and has been a part of ATP World Tour 500 Series since 2009. It is also the longest running competition in the whole of Asia.
About
The 2019 Japan Open will be taking place from 1st to 7th October 2019 at the Ariake Colosseum, a modern and expensive tennis centre comprising of 48 tennis courts and a stadium with one of the first retractable roofs in tennis.
Reputed and multinational companies like Emirates, FedEx and Rakuten are some of the official partners of the tournament.
Defending Champions
Belgian player David Goffin won the Men’s Singles title in 2017 Japan Open by defeating Adrian Mannarino 6−3, 7−5.
In the Men’s Doubles finals, home players Ben McLachlan and Yasutaka Uchiyama defeated Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares 6–4, 7–6(7–1).
