Holger Rune, a tennis player from Denmark, was born on April 29, 2003. He is ranked No. 12 in singles by the ATP as of March 2025. He achieved his career-high ranking of World No. 4 in August 2023 and became the highest-ranked Danish player in the history of the ATP. He has four ATP singles titles to his name as of March 2025, including the 2022 Paris Masters.

His best Grand Slam performance came at the 2022 French Open, where he reached the quarterfinals. He also reached the quarterfinals at the 2023 French Open and Wimbledon. He won his first ATP title at the 2022 Bavarian International Tennis Championships, which propelled him into the top 50. He won the Paris Masters later in 2022, breaking into the top 10 for the first time. He also set a record by defeating five top-10 players in the same event outside of the ATP Finals.

Rune reached the finals of the 2025 Indian Wells Open, registering a win over top seeds Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Tallon Griekspoor. Thus, he became the youngest Scandinavian player to reach this stage in Indian Wells. However, he lost to Jack Draper in the final by 6-2, 6-2.
