Taylor Townsend is a 28-year-old professional tennis player from America. She has won seven doubles WTA titles till date, including the 2023 Cincinnati Masters and the 2024 Washington Open. Her best Grand Slam result came at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships and the 2025 Australian Open, where she won the title alongside Katerina Siniakova.

Townsend is also an accomplished mixed doubles player, having reached the final of the US Open in 2024 and making it to the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. She is a left-handed player who is famous for her aggressive, serve and volley style of play.

She advanced to her first championship match of the 2024 WTA Finals, with Katerina Sinikova losing to Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe in the final. Townsend defeated Hsieh Su-Wei and Jelena Ostapenko by 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 to win her second major slam doubles title at the start of 2025 with Siniakova.

Taylor Townsend College

The program aims to provide tennis opportunities and scholarships to minorities. She moved to Boca Raton, Florida, to join the USTA development program and continue her training.

When the USTA said no to fund Townsend's travel expenses required to compete at the 2012 US Open, she was helped by Kamau Murray, who organized a fundraiser under the XS Tennis program and was able to raise $1000 for her trip.

In 2012, Taylor Townsend was named ITF Junior World Champion. She won this title after winning both girl's singles and doubles events at the 2012 Australian Open, and the US Open and Wimbledon Open doubles titles. She became the first American to achieve this title since 1982.
