
Gustav Forsling is an ice hockey defenceman who plays for the Florida Panthers in the NHL. He began his career with Linköpings HC in the Swedish Hockey League during the 2014–15 season. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 2014 but was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in January 2015. Forsling signed with Chicago in May 2016, made his NHL debut in the 2016–17 season, and scored his first goal in November 2016. In June 2019, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes and signed a one-year deal with them in October 2020.
On January 9, 2021, Forsling was claimed off waivers by the Florida Panthers. He signed a three-year, $8 million extension in July 2021 and later agreed to an eight-year, $46 million contract with Florida on March 7, 2024. Forsling played a key role in the Panthers’ success and won his first Stanley Cup when the team defeated the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7 of the Finals on June 24, 2024.
