Breanna Stewart played for the University of Connecticut. In her freshman season, despite playing off the bench, Stewart averaged 13.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 2.1 blocks, shooting 50.8% from the field. Her performance in the National Final against Louisville earned her nationwide recognition, recording 23 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.
After being inserted as a starter, Stewart dominated her sophomore year. She scored the most points, and blocks and grabbed the most offensive rebounds for the Huskies.
