The 6-foot-4 forward, DeWanna Bonner was drafted as fifth overall pick by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2009 WNBA Draft. Bonner has won two WNBA Championships (2009 and 2014) with one of them coming in her rookie year. She has played the second-most minutes (10,030), made third-most field goals (1590), second-most free-throws made (1267), second-most offensive rebounds (484), third-most defensive rebounds (1588), third in assists (705), second in steals (396), third in blocks (236), third in points (4820) in the history of the Mercury.

She was then traded to the Connecticut Sun in 2020 and has played a vital role in their success. In each of her four seasons, the Suns have made playoffs and also a finals appearance in 2022. She has already made three All-Star appearances and All-WNBA second team in five seasons with the Suns. The forward has played 153 games for the franchise and averages 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
