Kalani Brown is an American center, currently playing for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. Born on March 21, 1997, in Slidell, Louisiana, she stands at 6 feet 7 inches. Brown was drafted 7th overall in the first round of the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Over the past five years, Brown has played for various basketball teams both in the USA and abroad. After her rookie season with the Sparks in 2019, she spent the 2019–2020 season with Xinjiang Magic Deer in China. She then played for the Atlanta Dream and Kayseri Basketbol during the 2020–2021 season. Her international career continued with Hatayspor in Turkey (2021–2022) and Maccabi Bnot Ashdod in Israel (2022–2023). In 2024, she came back to WNBA as she signed a three-year contract with the Dallas Wings. Known for her impact off the bench and strong interior defense, Brown is a key player in disrupting opponents' plays. Her WNBA career averages are 6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game as of September 18, 2024.

Kalani Brown's college career at Baylor University had a perfect ending, winning the 2019 NCAA Championship. As a freshman coming into the 2015-16 collegiate season, Kalani Brown made an immediate impact as she earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team. Notably, she scored 16 points in Baylor’s NCAA Championship second-round victory over Auburn and led the team in rebounding and blocks in the NCAA first-round win against Idaho. Brown’s sophomore season was exceptional, as she led the Big 12 in field goal percentage (.679), ranked fourth in rebounding (8.2) and shot blocking (2.0), and fifth in scoring (15.4). She shattered Baylor’s single-season field goal percentage record and her postseason contributions included a career-high 35 points in a game against Texas and 27 points in an overtime Elite Eight game against Mississippi State.

In her junior year, Brown was a dominant force again, leading Baylor with 18 double-doubles. She was named Big 12 Player of the Year and the Most Outstanding Player of the Big 12 Championship. Brown’s senior season concluded her college career on a high note, as she was a key figure in the Baylor team that won the 2019 NCAA Championship. Her final college season was a fitting end to her career at Baylor.

Kalani Brown High School

Kalani Brown High School was Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana. At Salmen, Brown distinguished herself as one of the top players in the nation. She was a top-rated center in ESPN’s Class of 2015. During her high school career, Brown was named the 2014 Gatorade Louisiana Player of the Year. Over a four-year career, She amassed a total of 2,392 points, 1,471 rebounds, and 605 blocked shots, becoming the all-time leader in all three categories for the Spartans. Under her leadership, the Spartans reached the Class 4A state championship game four times, winning titles in 2013 and 2014.

Besides being an elite basketball star, Brown also excelled in volleyball, earning all-district and all-metro honors. She was also active in school leadership, serving as student council president and making the honor roll.
