Kamilla Cardoso began her collegiate basketball career with the Syracuse Orange as a sophomore in the 2020/21 season. Her excellent basketball skills led her to be honored as the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2021. Furthermore, she was also declared as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 and was also honored as a member of the First Team All-ACC in 2021. In her solo season with the team, Cardoso played 24 games and averaged 13.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. She shot 57.6% from the field. After the season, she transferred to the University of South Carolina.

University of South Carolina (2021-Present)


Kamilla Cardoso started representing the South Carolina Gamecocks after her transfer during her sophomore 2021/22 season. Despite being a reserve player, she led her team to win the national championship in 2022.

In her junior 2022/23 season, Kamilla Cardoso and her impressive basketball skills led her to be declared as the SEC Sixth Woman of the Year in 2023. She is now working hard for her team as a senior in the 2023/24 season. Throughout four seasons and 81 games with the team so far, she is averaging 8.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.9 blocks per game. She is also shooting 57.1% from the field in her career so far.

Kamilla Cardoso attended Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. There she played varsity basketball for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Hawks. During her high school career, she was regarded as a five star recruit. Furthermore, she had also played in the McDonald’s All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic. She was honored as McDonald’s All-American in 2020.
