During her collegiate career, she appeared in 147 games, scoring 1,674 points and grabbed 395 rebounds.

Nurse made her WNBA debut in 2018 when she was selected as the 10th overall pick by the New York Liberty in the 2018 WNBA draft. She moved to the Phoenix Mercury in 2021, where she played 32 games, before joining the Seattle Storm for the 2023 WNBA season. As of September 2024, she has appeared in 196 WNBA games, scoring 1,842 points and grabbing 477 rebounds. Additionally, Nurse is a two-time WNBL champion in 2019 and 2020. She competed in the FIBA Women's AmeriCup in 2017, 2015, and 2013, winning two gold medals and one silver medal and won the gold medal while competing for Canada in the 2015 Pan American Games. She also competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
