The veteran point guard Samantha Allison Whitcomb plays for the Seattle Storm in the WNBA as of September 2024. She was born on July 20, 1998, in California, U.S. During her high school years at Buena High School in Ventura, she helped her team secure three Channel League championships. In college, she played for Washington University, where she scored 1,205 career points, ranking 15th on the school’s all-time scoring list.

After not being picked in the 2010 WNBA Draft, Whitcomb began her pro career overseas, joining ChemCats Chemnitz in Germany’s Bundesliga. In 2017, she signed with the Seattle Storm, contributing as a backup point guard, averaging 4.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. Whitcomb went on to win two WNBA titles with the Storm, in 2018 and 2020. On the international stage, she played for the Australian Opals, winning a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and a silver medal at the 2018 FIBA World Cup in Spain. During the 2024 WNBA season, Whitcomb is playing as a backup point guard for Seattle Storm and averages 5.0 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game (as of September 20, 2024).
