Sandy Brondello is a former basketball player who is the current head coach of the New York Liberty in the WNBA. Brondello was born on 20 August 1968 in Mackay, Queensland, Australia. She started her basketball career in Australia playing for the Women's National Basketball League team. In 1992, she was honored as the Australian Basketball Player of the Year. Over her WNBL career playing for the Brisbane Blazers, Brondello made three playoff appearances and earned the Most Valuable Player award in 1995. In 1998 she was selected in the WNBA draft by The Detroit Shock. Her coaching career started when she was appointed as assistant coach of the San Antonio Silver Stars. After that, she did an assistant coaching job for a few other teams and finally, in 2022, she joined The New York Liberty as head coaching job.

In her coaching career in the WNBA, Sandy Brondello has an impressive list of achievements, including leading The Phoenix Mercury to victory as a WNBA champion in 2014. In the same year, she was recognized as WNBA Coach of the Year. More recently, she added to her accolades by securing the Commissioner's Cup championship in 2023 for New York Liberty.
