American college women's basketball player Taylor Thierry plays as a guard for the Ohio State Buckeyes as of January 2025 and is in her senior year. She attended Laurel H.S. High School and was named Division II Player of the Year as a senior in 2020-21, as per her college roster. She led the side to a state tournament appearance in 2020-21. As a junior, she averaged 16.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 3.1 assists in 2019-20 and helped the school to a regional final appearance. Additionally, Thierry led her team to a 23-4 record. As a freshman in college, she appeared in 30 games and averaged 2.9 points and 3.4 rebounds through 15.2 minutes per game in 2021-2022. According to her college roster, she led her team in field goal percentage (.541) and blocks (28). That season, Thierry recorded a career-high nine points two times; one against Bellarmine and another against Nebraska. She also grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and six steals at Michigan State (2/27), a career-high four assists at Northwestern (1/9), and a career-high six blocks against Penn State (2/24).

As a sophomore, Thierry started in all 36 games and led Ohio State to its first Elite Eight appearance in 30 years. As a junior in the 2023-24 season, she started in all 32 games and averaged 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.5 assists per game, as per her college roster.

John Thierry was a former NFL first-round pick of the 1994 NFL Draft for the Chicago Bears. He played as a linebacker for Alcorn State University before moving to defensive end position. He played nine years in the National Football League from 1994 to 2002. John was born on September 4, 1971, in Houston, Texas, U.S. and passed away on November 24, 2017, in Opelousas, Louisiana, U.S., aged 46, following a heart attack. Some of the well-known NFL teams he played for apart from the Bears were the Cleveland Browns in 1999, the Green Bay Packers from 2000-2001, and the Atlanta Falcons in 2002.

Shoulder injuries compelled him to conclude his American football career with the Falcons. During his career, he recorded 33.5 sacks and 163 tackles with 7 fumble recoveries while he played for 131 games and started 70 of them.
