About Asia Cup

The 17th edition of the Asia Cup cricket competition will be the 2025 Men's Asia Cup. It will be held in the United Arab Emirates from September 9–28, 2025. The Twenty20 International (T20I) format will be used for the matches. The defending champion of this competition is India.

Eight teams will compete in the competition. The United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Hong Kong—the teams that placed in the top three of the 2024 ACC Men's Premier Cup—will join the five full members of the Asian Cricket Council, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, who automatically qualified for the competition.

Format

The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four, and the tournament format and groups will differ from those of the past tournaments. There will be a single-group Super Four stage for the top two teams in each group. The final will be contested by the top two teams in this stage.

Teams and qualification

The competition was automatically open to the five full members of the Asian Cricket Council. Hong Kong, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates qualified after placing in the top three at the 2024 ACC Premier Cup.
