The trade market is one of the best ways to improve a fantasy football roster following the initial draft for each season. The best strategy for doing so is to swap out players who could be on the decline for other assets that could improve as the season goes on. Managers who find a way to sell high on their own players and buy low on the right targets often gain an advantage in building the best fantasy roster possible. One way to always make sure that the proper value is being extracted out of a trade is to utilize Sportskeeda’s Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer. This useful tool assesses all aspects of a trade proposal and gives relevant advice about which side is getting a better deal.
With the 2024 NFL season quickly approaching, now is a good time to start targeting specific players in the trade market that could be getting undervalued this year. Here are five solid candidates.
Ezekiel Elliot
While Ezekiel Elliot may not be among the top fantasy football running backs as he was during the prime of his career, he has still quietly been a solid contributor. In a limited role with the New England Patriots last year, he received more than ten carries in just nine games, but finished among the top 25 weekly running backs in eight of them. Now back with the Dallas Cowboys, he’s expected to be a workhorse again and could see a major bounce back in his fantasy value.
George Pickens
Even with one of the worst quarterback situations in the entire NFL last year, George Pickens still increased his output in just about every receiving category. Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers improved their quarterbacks, and also moved on from Diontae Johnson, Pickens could be in line to take another step forward. Potentially increased volume and more efficiency from his quarterback are strong indicators that he will do so.
Ladd McConkey
While rookies are always risky in fantasy football, Ladd McConkey is entering an ideal situation with the Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert is one of the best passers in the entire NFL, but the franchise took away his top three targets. They used a premium draft pick on McConkey, who could emerge as their number-one wide receiver this season. He is surely worth an investment as his situation gives him a massive upside.
Devin Singletary
The New York Giants moved on from Saquon Barkley during the offseason and replaced him with Devin Singletary. While he may not be as dynamic as Barkley, Singletary posted strong numbers for the Houston Texans last season and improved as the year went on. He finished among the top 25 weekly running backs eight times, with seven of them coming in the final nine weeks of the season. With an opportunity to take over Barkley’s large workload, Singletary is an attractive trade target in fantasy football.
Drake London
Even with arguably the worst quarterback situation in the entire NFL during his career so far, Drake London is still averaging 71 receptions for 886 yards per season across his first two years. The Atlanta Falcons worked hard to improve their quarterbacks during the offseason and did so by bringing in Kirk Cousins. For the first time in his career, London will have an elite passer throwing him the ball, which could lead to him being one of the biggest breakout players this season.
