Aaron LaRae Jones is an American football running back for the Minnesota Vikings in the 2024 NFL season. The Green Bay Packers selected him as the 182nd overall pick in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. After spending seven seasons with the Packers (2017–2023), he joined the Vikings in 2024. According to Spotrac, he signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the team. In his first season with the Vikings, Jones has 893 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns, 37 receptions, 302 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns, as of Week 14, 2024 (via Pro Football Reference).

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Aaron Jones attended Burges High School in El Paso, Texas, where he played football and earned a three-star rating from 247Sports.com. After high school, he attended the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he played football for the UTEP Miners from 2013 to 2016. Jones is UTEP's all-time leading rusher, with 4,114 career yards. According to Sports Reference, he also recorded 71 receptions for 646 receiving yards during his time there.

In the 2019 NFC Championship on January 19, 2020, the 49ers defeated the Packers 37–20. In that game, Jones recorded 56 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, five receptions for 27 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.

In the 2020 NFC Championship on January 24, 2021, the Packers lost to the Buccaneers 31–26. Jones rushed for 27 yards and recorded four receptions for seven receiving yards before leaving the game due to injury.
