Denniston Oliver "D. J." Moore Jr. is an American football wide receiver for the Chicago Bears in the NFL. The Carolina Panthers selected Moore as the 24th pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He started 10 games, appearing in 16 in the regular season of his rookie year. Moore finished with 55 receptions for 788 yards in 2018 and was selected in the PFWA All-Rookie team. Moore Jr. started all the games he played in the following season. After five seasons and 80 appearances for the Panthers, Moore was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2023. He put up his career-high numbers in the debut season with the Bears having 96 receptions for 1,364 yards. In his 97 appearances in the NFL, Moore Jr. has 460 receptions for 6,565 yards and 29 touchdowns, as of October 2024.

Growing up in Pennsylvania, Moore Jr. attended the Imhotep Institute Charter High School. In his senior year, Moore Jr. earned Pennsylvania Class AAA All-State honors while totalling 35 receptions for 1,012 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior in 2014. Moore Jr. committed to the University of Maryland in 2015. In the 37 games he appeared in college, Moore Jr. had 146 receptions for 2027 yards. He received Big-Ten Receiver of the Year and First-team All-Big-Ten honors in 2017.

D.J. Moore Jr. wears the number 2 with the Chicago Bears, as of October 2024. He wore the number 12 from his draft in 2018 to 2021. Moore Jr. announced he would switch his number to 2 in May 2021. According to the NFL, Moore Jr. wore the number 2 in his youth school days when he was around five. Following his number switch, Moore Jr. spoke about it in an interview with the NFL saying: "It was my first ever real number I had when I won a championship when I was 5 years old. I still have the same exact jersey." Moore Jr. continued to wear the number 2 following his trade to the Chicago Bears in 2023.

Moore Jr. wore the number 1 during his collegiate career at University of Maryland. According to 247Sports, Moore Jr. prefers having single digits on his jersey. He also stated his preference saying:. "I think single digits look good on me because that's what I wore my whole life.” Moore Jr., who played kicker and wide receiver for the Imhotep Charter Varsity Football team, wore number 23. In appreciation of Moore Jr.’s achievements, Imhotep retired his number.
