Jason Kelce’s Documentary
Jason Kelce

If you look at every center that has played in the NFL for the last 30 years, only three centers have been named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Jason Kelce, according to popular opinion, should be the fourth center to enter that list very soon. He may be an undersized center but his athleticism and game IQ make up for it. When we talk about Kelce’s run game, he is quite literally scheme proof and very few players can stop him. His rare athleticism is what drives the Eagles’ offense and has made them into a juggernaut of a franchise.

Centers are heavily underrated when it comes to how valuable they are to a franchise. Most of the spotlight goes to receivers, offensive tackles, or quarterbacks. It is hard to make a name for yourself when you play the center position but with Kelce, it is not the case. Off the field, Kelce is one of the most hilarious people around but on the field, it is all business. His pass protection technique, blitz pickups, blocking in space, and zone blocking technique are elite.

When Kelce came out of the combine, he was just 280 pounds which was heavily undersized for his position which made some analysts think that a fullback would be a better option for Kelce. If you look at the Eagles’ offense, Kelce is constantly used as a lead blocker and rightfully so. He is like a running back at times who will constantly use his footwork to block the defensive lineman from the other end.

The Eagles center has accumulated an impressive number of accolades including, a Super Bowl ring, seven Pro Bowl selections, and six first-team All-Pro selections. Kelce’s on-field prowess is undeniable.

As he mulled over the thought of retirement before the 2023 NFL season, Kelce decided to come back for one more season to try and go out with another Super Bowl ring Unfortunately though, he and the Eagles fell short in the playoffs and on March 4, 2024, Kelce called it quits by officially announcing his retirement in a media conference.

Jason Kelce’s Documentary

“Kelce,” is a documentary about the Eagles’ center. The documentary shows Kelce as he considers retirement, having his child, and how the entire process was for him. It also shows how he decides to return to the NFL for his 13th season. The documentary displays Kelce when he faced off against his brother Travis Kelce in Super Bowl LVII. He started documenting his film in 2022 because Kelce thought that it was the last time he was stepping on the football field but that was not the case.

The documentary is a must-watch for football fans as it shows an intimate look at Kelce on and off the field. ’Kelce’ is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime and it is a highly rated documentary at 4.9/5, according to Amazon’s ratings.
