Aaron Ekblad is a Canadian defenceman and alternate captain for the Florida Panthers. He was drafted 1st overall in 2014 and made his NHL debut on October 9, 2014. He won the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year in 2015 after scoring 39 points in 81 games. Ekblad signed an eight-year, $60 million extension on July 2, 2016.
