Mensik started playing tennis at five on the tennis courts in front of his family's house. He used to enjoy the games of children and adults playing on the court and started training with his old coach, Ivo Muller. During his junior year, he finished as a finalist at the 2022 Australian Open, achieving an ITF ranking of No. 3 on January 31, 2022. He won his first Challenger title at the 2023 Sparta Prague Open, defeating Dominik Koepfer.
