Daniil Medvedev, the Russian tennis player, has won a Grand Slam (2021 US Open) and further reached six Grand Slam finals, as of December 2024. Medvedev also has 20 career singles titles as well as a Davis Cup victory. Born on 11 February 1996 in Moscow, Russia, Daniil Medvedev turned pro in 2014. He made his breakthrough in 2019 - getting into the Top-10 after the Wimbledon Championships and reaching the US Open final (lost to Rafael Nadal). Medvedev has won six Masters-1000 titles, and all of them have been at different venues. In February 2022, the Russian star became World No. 1 for the first time.

As of December 2024, Daniil Medvedev is ranked No. 5 in the world. He has earned $45,126,978, making him 6th on the all-time prize money winners list. Medvedev is currently being coached by long-time head coach Gilles Cervara.

Daniil Medvedev made his Olympics debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics amid the COVID-19 pandemic. After notching up a couple of victories, Medvedev was defeated by eventual bronze medalist Pablo Carreno Busta in the quarterfinal. The final score was 2-6 6-7(5).

In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Daniil Medvedev started as the fourth seed. However, the Russian’s tournament was cut short in Round 3 by Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets.
