Andrei Svechnikov is a professional ice hockey player and plays for the Carolina Hurricanes, as of April 2025. Evgeny Svechnikov's professional career began in 2012 with Ak Bars Kazan's junior teams and made his pro debut with Ak Bars at just 17 years old during the 2013–14 season. In 2015, he was drafted 19th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year contract.

He recorded impressive stats in the QMJHL and AHL, leading to his NHL debut with the Red Wings in 2017. Despite a knee injury sidelining him for the 2018–19 season, he continued to showcase his talent upon his return. After multiple seasons with the Red Wings, he joined the Manitoba Moose, the Winnipeg Jets' AHL affiliate, before securing a one-year NHL contract with the Jets. Later, he signed with the San Jose Sharks before eventually moving to Ak Bars Kazan in the KHL.

Andrei Svechnikov and Evgeny Igorevich was born to Elena and Igor Svechnikov, as per Sportsnet. Originally from Neftegorsk, they later moved to Barnaul, an industrial city in Siberia, after a deadly earthquake struck their hometown. Igor, who was a pediatrician, eventually gave up his medical career after witnessing the suffering caused by the earthquake. Elena worked multiple jobs to support the family, including manning the reception desk at a local rink during the day and cleaning floors at night, as per Sportsnet. They later moved to Moscow, where Andrei and Evgeny further developed their hockey skills.
