Brock Faber, born August 22, 2002, is an American professional ice hockey defenseman playing for the Minnesota Wild in the NHL as of February 2025. The native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, was originally selected 45th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2020 NHL Draft. However, Faber’s rights were traded to the Wild in 2022. He joined the team in 2023 on a three-year entry-level contract, making an immediate impact by scoring his first NHL goal in October and setting franchise records for assists, points, blocked shots, and time on ice among rookie defensemen.

Faber earned a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team and a finalist position for the Calder Memorial Trophy due to his impressive debut season. In July 2024, he signed an eight-year, $68 million contract extension with the Wild.

Brock Faber grew up in Maple Grove, Minnesota, as per his college roster page. As a youth, he played for the Osseo-Maple Grove Hockey Association. His performance earned him a spot in USA Hockey’s Select 15 Player Development Camp (via Team USA).

Faber progressed when he was selected for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP), where he played two seasons from 2018 to 2020. He first joined the Under-17 team, scoring 15 points in 56 games. Later he moved to the Under-18 team, where he recorded 12 points in 46 games. His time with the NTDP prepared him for his next step at the University of Minnesota (via his college roster page).

Brock Faber is an American ice hockey player. He has represented Team USA in several international tournaments. His international career began with the U.S. National Under-17 Team, earning a silver medal at the 2018 Under-18 Four Nations Tournament and a bronze at the 2019 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament. Faber continued his success with the U.S. National Under-18 Team, winning gold at the 2019 Five Nations Tournament and adding a silver at the 2020 edition (via his college roster page).

In 2021, he won a gold medal with Team USA’s victory at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton. He was later named team captain for the 2022 World Junior Championship. Faber also represented the U.S. at the 2022 Winter Olympics, as per Gopher Sport.
