Calvin Pickard is a Canadian goaltender for the Edmonton Oilers. He was born on April 15, 1992, and was drafted 49th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 2010 after playing junior hockey with the Seattle Thunderbirds. He began his pro career with the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters and made his NHL debut with Colorado in 2014. He recorded his first NHL win and shutout with the Avalanche and became their starting goalie during the 2016–17 season. In 2017, he was the first player selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft.

Pickard signed with the Oilers in 2022 and spent most of his first season in the AHL. In 2023–24, he was recalled and became the backup to Stuart Skinner. He played 23 NHL games, going 12–7–1 with a .909 save percentage. In the 2024 playoffs, he made his NHL postseason debut in Round 2 against Vancouver. After relieving Skinner in Game 3, he started Game 4 and made 20 saves in a 3–2 win, helping Edmonton avoid a 3–1 series deficit.
