Casey DeSmith is an American goaltender who plays for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). DeSmith started his professional ice hockey career with the Wheeling Nailers in 2015 despite being undrafted and considered undersized. He holds the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins record for most playoff saves and was named to the American Hockey League (AHL) All-Rookie Team in 2017, as per the NHL's website.

After excelling in the AHL, DeSmith signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2017, becoming a key goaltender following Matt Murray's trade. Following a stint with the Vancouver Canucks in the 2023–24 season, he signed with the Dallas Stars as a free agent on July 1, 2024, according to the aforementioned website.
