Martin Necas is a professional ice hockey player for the Colorado Avalanche as of 2025. He was drafted 12th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2017 NHL Draft. During the 2019-20 season, Necas scored 28 goals over three seasons. Necas made his NHL debut in 2017-18 but returned to Brno in the Czech Republic after one game.

In the 2018-19 season, he scored his first NHL goal on October 16, 2018, against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Despite a brief stint in the AHL, Necas was considered the top prospect for the Hurricanes. In August 2022, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Hurricanes. He led the team in points during the 2022-23 season, finishing with 71 points.
