Matthew Tkachuk is an American forward and alternate captain for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Tkachuk was drafted sixth overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2016 NHL entry draft. As a rookie in the 2016-17 season, he registered 48 points in 76 games and 105 penalty minutes. Tkachuk had a breakout in 2018-19 with 34 goals and 77 points. In the 2021-22 season, he scored 104 points.

Tkachuk, who is a two-time NHL All-Star Game participant and a two-time NHL Second All-Star Team selection, was traded to the Florida Panthers on July 22, 2022. He had 109 points and was a Hart Trophy finalist in the 2022-23 season. Tkachuk won the Stanley Cup in 2024 with the Panthers, tying Aleksander Barkov for the playoffs lead with 22 points.
