
Matthew Brendan Tkachuk is an ice hockey forward for the Florida Panthers of the NHL. Matthew Tkachuk joined the Florida Panthers in 2022. Prior to the Panthers, he played for the Calgary Flames from 2016 to 2022.
Tkachuk was drafted 64th overall by the London Knights in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. He was part of the London team that won the OHL Championship. That season, Tkachuk played in 18 games, scoring 40 points, which included 20 assists and 20 goals. Before joining the OHL, he played two seasons with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, in the USHL, totaling 96 points in his second year. He played alongside Auston Matthews and Jack Roslovic in the USHL.
He was drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2016 as the sixth overall and signed a three-year contract with the Flames. Tkachuk extended this contract for three years in 2019. Upon the completion of the contract, he was traded to the Florida Panthers in 2022. As of May 2025, Matthew Tkachuk has accumulated 240 goals, 396 assists and 636 points throughout his NHL career.
