Mitchell Marner was born on May 5, 1997, and is a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger and alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL. Before the NHL Mitch played for the London Knights in the OHL, where he made his impact. In 2015-16, he scored 39 goals and 116 points, securing his second consecutive 100-plus point season and helping the London Knights win the Memorial Cup. He made his NHL debut on October 12, 2016, and has broken many records since then. Marner's impressive NHL journey includes making the All-Rookie team in 2016-17 and helping the Maple Leafs reach the playoffs. During the 2022-23 season, he set a team-record 20-game home-point streak and received his first Selke Award nomination for defensive prowess.

Marner has represented Canada in international competitions, earning accolades like the Canadian Hockey League Player of the Year. Marner's success extends to international play, representing Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championship and winning a gold medal at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.
