Mitch Marner is a Canadian right winger and alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of May 2025. He was drafted fourth overall by the Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL draft. Marner made his NHL debut on October 12, 2016, and scored his first goal in his second game. He finished his rookie season with 61 points and set a Maple Leafs rookie record with 42 assists in the 2016-17 season.

On September 13, 2019, Marner signed a six-year, $65.358 million contract. He was named the Maple Leafs' alternate captain in October 2019 and registered a second career five-point game in December 2019. Marner made the NHL First All-Star Team in 2021 and 2022. In 2021-22, he scored 97 points and recorded his first NHL hat-trick and four-goal game. On March 7, 2025, he declined a trade request to the Carolina Hurricanes and chose to stay in Toronto, as per reports.
