She began her basketball journey at Manasquan High School, where she led her team to a state championship victory and was named the tournament MVP in the McDonald's All-American Game in 2015. Mabrey’s impressive high school career paved the way for her to play college basketball with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, where her performance made the ACC All-Freshman Team selection and she led the team's 2018 NCAA championship win.
Mabrey was selected 19th overall in the second round by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2019 WNBA Draft.
