Sug Sutton is a 5-foot-8 versatile guard who was drafted by the Washington Mystics with the 36th overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. Before entering the WNBA, she had a terrific college career at the University of Texas (2016–2020), where she earned First-team All-Big 12 honors in 2019 and Second-team All-Big 12 in 2020. In high school, she was a McDonald's All-American in 2016.

Born on December 17, 1998, as Alecia Kaorie Sutton, she was nicknamed "Sug" (short for "Sugar") by her father and grandfather. Her parents, Larry Sutton and Tonette Moore, have been a big influence on her life. While excelling on the court at the University of Texas, Sutton also focused on academics and majored in health promotion and behavioural sciences. In the summer of 2017, Sutton played for Team USA U19 Team, at the FIBA U19 World Cup held in Italy, and helped lead the team to a silver medal. Sutton started in all seven games and averaged 8.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game throughout the tournament. Known for her versatile combo guard play, Sug Sutton continues to create a prolonged career in the WNBA.
