Team India players mesmerised by Vijayan's presence
Mumbai, Aug 28 (PTI) Indian football legend IM Vijayan has visited the national team training session, leaving the players mesmerised with his mere presence.
The practice session was on at the Mumbai Football Arena.
Goalkeeper Subrata Paul saluted the former captain from a distance and embraced him, Arnab Mondal wiped his hand twice before shaking hands, Narayan Das bent like a bow, Md. Rafique literally came running, followed by Robin Singh and Balwant Singh.
Later Balwant quipped: "I've heard so much about him from Sukhi-paaji (Sukhwinder Singh). He always told us, unless you have seen him play you haven't watched football at all."
Captain Sandesh Jhingan took a few steps and ran straight to Vijayan.
"I missed you Sir. How are you," Jhingan asked, to which Vijayan responded, "Carry on the good work."
On a lighter note, Vijayan, one of India's greatest footballers, said, "I am playing for my office team. But I have grown old. I am a grandfather now. Let the younger ones play
