The Los Angeles Kings are a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL), competing in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The team was established in 1967 after Jack Kent Cooke was awarded an NHL Expansion franchise for Los Angeles on February 9, 1966. The team was part of NHL Expansion that also included Minnesota North Stars, Oakland Seals, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the St. Louis Blues. As of May 2024, the team is owned by Philip Anschutz and Ed Roski.


The team plays their home games at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles and are led by general manager Rob Blake, team coach Jim Hiller, and captain Anze Kopitar. Notably, Kopitar helped the Kings win two Stanley Cups, two Conference championships, and a sole Division Championship. Furthermore, they also have two minor league affiliates in the form of Ontario Reign in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the ECHL. Till now, they have played 56 seasons in the NHL and have reached the playoffs 33 times till now.

The Los Angeles Kings played their Game 1 of the Conference round on 22 April against the Edmonton Oilers. They faced tough competition from the Oilers, losing the game 7-4. Despite strong efforts from the Oilers, they remained resilient with goals from Mikey Anderson, Adrian Kempe, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Trevor Moore.
