Robert Covington: A Brief Biography

Robert Covington is an American professional basketball player who plays a small forward for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. He attended Proviso West High School in Hillside, Illinois, during his senior year in 2009 he was named the West Suburban Conference Player of the Year. He joined the Tennessee State University in 2009.

After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft, Covington joined the Houston Rockets for the Summer League in 2013 and later signed a multi-year deal with them. He was named the NBA D-League Rookie of the Year in 2014. Covington was waived by the Rockets on October 27, 2014, and signed with the Philadelphia 76ers November 14, 2014. During the 2014-15 season, Robert finished 10th in the NBA in three-point shots made. During the same season, he scored twenty points or more 14 times. He scored his career high of 31 points vs the L.A. Clippers on November 13, 2017.

On November 17, 2017, Covington signed a four-year, $62 million contract extension with the 76ers. He was named in the NBA All-Defensive First Team for the 2017-18 season.
