Born in Barcelona, Spain, Marcel Granollers Pujol is ranked No. 4 in doubles by the ATP as of 2024 and achieved the career-high ranking of No. 1 in May 2024. The 38-year-old recently qualified for the 2024 Nitto ATP finals with Horacio Zeballos.

Granollers reached the semifinals of the 2024 Cincinnati Open, with Zeballos losing to Alex Michelsen and Mackenzie McDonald. He won his second ATP 1000 title at the 2024 Canadian Open, defeating Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.

Granollers advanced to the semifinal of the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters and the 2024 Madrid Open with Zeballos. His other accomplishments include registering the 500th doubles win of his career at the 2024 Miami Open. It also includes winning the 2024 Italian Open, defeating the duo of Mate Pavic and Marcelo Arevalo. He also won the 2012 ATP Tour Finals with Marc Lopez, defeating Rohan Bopanna and Mahesh Bhupathi.
