The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off is the best-on-best international hockey tournament organized by the NHL, taking place from February 12-20, in Montreal, Canada, and Boston, USA. The tournament will feature Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States, with each team consisting of 13 forwards, seven defensemen, and three goalies. This will be the first true best-on-best tournament since the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Team Canada will open the tournament against Sweden on February 12, followed by a matchup against the United States on February 15 and a game against Finland on February 17. The top two teams will advance to the championship game on February 20. Canada team features Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, and Cale Makar. Fans in Canada can watch the games on Sportsnet (SN), TVA Sports (TVAS), TNT, and ABC, with streaming options available on ESPN+ and Fubo. This tournament will serve as a preview of Canada’s Olympic roster for the 2026 Winter Games.

4 Nations face off Canada coach

Jon Cooper has been named head coach of Team Canada for the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off. Cooper, who has led the Tampa Bay Lightning to multiple Stanley Cup victories, will also serve as Canada’s head coach for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

He will be joined by an experienced group of assistant coaches, including:

  • Rick Tocchet (Vancouver Canucks)

  • Bruce Cassidy (Vegas Golden Knights)

  • Peter DeBoer (Dallas Stars)

Jon Cooper is a Canadian-American ice hockey coach, best known as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL. Born on August 23, 1967, in Prince George, British Columbia, Cooper led the Lightning to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021 and has consistently guided his team to playoff runs.

Jon Cooper's coaching history

Cooper’s coaching career began at Lansing Catholic High School while he was practicing law. His passion for coaching led him to junior hockey, where he found success with the Texarkana Bandits and Green Bay Gamblers, winning multiple championships. In 2010, he moved to the AHL, coaching the Norfolk Admirals to a Calder Cup victory in 2012.

In 2013, he was promoted to the NHL as head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Under his leadership, the team has succeeded, winning multiple division titles three Prince of Wales Trophies, and two back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. Jon Cooper is the head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning and the longest-tenured coach in the NHL. He has led the team to four Stanley Cup Finals. Cooper has won 536 games in 899 career games, the second-most by any coach in their first 900 games, as per NHL.com.

Internationally, Cooper has coached Team Canada at the World Championships and was named head coach for the 2026 Winter Olympics and the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off.
